YESTERDAY'S FREIGHT DAILY WATERFRONT NEWS.
RETURNS.
INWARD CARGO NORMAL.
THROUGH FREIGHTS DOWN.
The freight returns for the 24 hours ended at 8 a.m. yesterday showed normal entry for the Colony, while cargoes for other ports were considerably lower than the day before.
Twelve vessels discharged here a total of 13,859 tons Of these, five British ateamers contributed 4,199 tona. The two best returns were 3,020 tons and 2,000 tons. The former were brought here by the 5. Totomi Maru from Sekkito and the latter were er the 3. Tuan Lee, from Saigon and Amor.
Only four steamers manifested through cargoes. The total amount carried was 6,892 tons. Of these, two British chips accounted for 3,381 tons. The best return was 3,511 tons on the Ganges Maru from Tawae.

Canton Authorities Release Farry.
The Shek-ki farrz njunk, which | was recently detame by the mili tary at Shek-ki, has been released and has returned to the Colony. Cargo worth $40,000 had not been inspected for surtax by the Cus- toms at the Chinese port, and the boat was detained, while a confisca tion order was put into execution. Höwever, as a result of the Can- ton Government being officially petitioned in the matter, the com- fiscation order was rescinded, and the cargo was-released on' a solis- factory explanation being given by the Company.
