LOCAL IMPORTS BELOW AVERAGE.

General merchandise for ports beyond Hong Kong as shown on the manifesta of the vessels arriving here during the 24 hours ended at 9am. yesterday, was below the daily average.

There were 11 arrivals, but only seven discharged cargo here. The total amount of general cargo un loaded was 8,777 tone, of which, 1,865 tons were from three British steamora Through freights amount- ed to 1,514 tons. This was carried on four vessels, three British strana- ere taking 714 tons.

The arrivals and departures dur- ing the period under review were: British, 4 arrivals and 3 depar- tures; Japanese, 3 arrivals and 8 departures; Norwegian, 9 depar. tures: Chinese, 2 arrivals and 3 de partures; Dutch, 9 arrivals; Ger-

The total number of deck passen- gers arriving in the Colony during the 24 hours ended at 9 a.m. yester. day wax 587.

The Dutch steamer Abria, which came into port yesterday from San Pedro, brought 8,706 tons of fpe oil for local consumption.

The master of the A.P.C. steamer Finna, in a report to the Harbour Ofice, states that the light vessel in Tarakun, Borneo, has drifted to a position N., 117° 52′ E.
