YESTERDAY'S STATE-

MENTS.

THROUGH AND LOCAL FREIGHTS NORMAL.

General merchandise discharged here and carried for ports beyond by the vessels which entered into port during the 24 hours ended at 0a.m. yesterday were normal.

Out of the 19 arrivals, only 14 steamers, discharged here. The total tonnage of general cargo unloaded was 11.720 tons, of which 5,633 tons were from 6 British vessels..

SHIPPING NOTES.

During the 24 hours ended at 9 a. yesterday, 1,449, deek passen- gers entered Hong Kong, of whom, 150 were brought by the a l'an Överstruien (Dutch) from Swatow.

The R.M.S. Empress of Asia left bere yesterday for Shanghai with full complement of passengers and also carried a fair amount of freight from this part. There were 111 cabin passengers, and her steerage accommodations were filled.

HOME MAIL DELAYED BY FOG.
