Yesterday's shipping-statement showed a decrenss of 20,000 tons on the total freight entered, compared with the Agures of the previous morning. Hongkong o, however, had increased by 1,889 tons that for ports beyond had dropped by 27,890 tons.
The number of vessels in the harbour at 9 am yesterday was 12, of which" 25" were British. The arrivals for the pre- Sus Ti, Chinese str., 178 tons. Capt.vious twenty-four hours numbered ten, La Shui, from She U Chung, with | eiz, five British, one Dutch, two fruits and cattle, lying at Lusa Japanese and two Chinese. The depar-| Cheong Wharf-Fook Hoi S.8. Co. tures over the same period came to five, Taming, British str., 1,358 tons, Capt: D., two British for Shanghai, one Lupton, from Haiphong and Hoihow, Japanese for Swatow, one Chinese for with a general cargo, tying at buoy Hauhoi and one Chinese for Sha U Chung. There was only one clearance, a Portuguese steamer for Kwang Chow Wan.
