SHIPPING NOTES.
With reference to the Japanese steamer Ginga Maru which was recently towed into Manenuille by the santor-vessel City of San Francisco, after a Bre on board her had been extinguished, it is worthy of note tha: on December 30th as much as 60 per cent, was quoted to cover the risk of total logs. Subsequently the rate declined. and by January 2nd it had fallen to 12 per cent. On the above re- port the flingu Maru was withdrawn from the reinsurance market.
