By the death of Dr. Samuel Jones Goe, Cour salting Physioiun to St. Bartholomew's Hospital, a notable medical raan has passed away. Dr. Geo was something more than a footer; he was a "scholar and a philosopher," and some of the medical works of which he was author are truly enough described as "great,"

The Cairo vernacular journal learns from its

Jaffa correspondent that there have been un- earthed in Samaria some very interesting pieces of pottery bearing notes of the correspondence exchanged between the prophet Elisha, King Ahaby and Quesa Jezobel. It is to be gathered from the writing on the pottery that there exista a record relating to many of the eroute of the time, and efforts are now being made, anys the Journal, to discover this.
