Mr. Ng Chuen chung

Mr. Ng joined the Royal Hong Kong Police Force as a Constable in 1955. He was promoted to Corporal in 1960, Sergeant in 1968 and Station Sergeant in 1972. All his service has been in the Uniform Branch where he has performed both operational and administrative roles.

Throughout his entire service Mr. Ng has constantly displayed professional ability, initiative and devotion to duty of the highest order, which is reflected in five Commanding Officer's Commendations awarded to him over the years. During the last year he has served in an Inspectorate Officer's post as a Platoon Commander in the Emergency Unit.

Mrs. Catherine Roper

Mrs. Roper joined the Force in 1965 as a Woman Inspector and was promoted to Woman Chief Inspector in 1972. She has served in the Uniform Branch of Hong Kong Island District, in the Criminal Investigation Department/Police Headquarters and as an instructor at the Police Training School. Between March 1974 and July 1976 she served as the Police Community Relations Officer, Tsuen Wan, where she was especially active in youth work. The Junior Police Call organisation in Tsuen Wan and Kwai Chung, under her general supervision, now has a combined membership in the order of 25,000. She now works in the Complaints Against Police Office, Police Headquarters.

Mr. Yeung Po-kwan

Mr. Yeung joined the Royal Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force as a constable in 1963. He was promoted to Corporal (Aux.) in early 1966, to Sergeant (Aux.) in June of the same year, to Inspector (Aux.) in 1967 and to Senior Inspector (Aux.) in 1972. Mr. Yeung was promoted to Chief Inspector (Aux.) in 1974 and Superintendent (Aux,) in 1975.

In 1967 he became Staff Officer in the operational control room of Hong Kong Island District, a post involving long and arduous hours of work and great concentration.

In recent years he has bee Divisional Inspector, Special Duty Company, Hong Kong Island District and Divisional Superintendent, Eastern Division and has raised the morale and effectiveness of both

of these units.
