If two FM stations are opera!- ing on the same frequency, their waves may meet and cross cach other's path. But they will do so well above the earth's surface. You will not hear them on the ground.

Another characteristic of the FM wave is that even if two FM stations are near each other and their wayes meet and overlay, the stronger signal of the two has a "locking effect" and "cver- rides" the weaker signal.

Thus the weaker wave cannet interfere with the stronger wave.

This is what the technicians call the "capture" or "channel grabbing" effect. It adds to the clarity of FM reception,
