The new British, entertainment tax with its in- creases has made a target of horse-racing, greyhound racing and speedway racing.

The experts are already talking in terms of it being a "death blow" to speedway racing.

Pre-budget taxation on these three sports previously worked out at about 48 per cent, but now there are to be the additional burdens of one penny each on cheaper admission charges, two-ponce on the main prices and an even greater increase on the top prices.
