ALF RAMSEY (England's right back) says-- Bill Eckersley, my England team colleague, asks me to open the lesson on back play, and we agree that point No. 1 must be: The goal's the thing. Not your own goal, but the opposition's.
Get into the game with your mind and your tactics based on that goal at the other end.
For instance, when you are clearing do not make the mistake of "blinding" the ball up field as far as possible. If you do you can be quite sure that the back at the other
