New York, October 4.

The American President Linos plans to build three fast round-the-world cargo-passenger linors to replace three now on the slip-ways which the United States Govornmont wants for mili- tary service.

The proposed ships would be bigger than the 13,- 000-ton vessels now under construction and faster than 19-2 knots. The company also is studying plans for four slightly smaller round-the-world liners.

George Killion, president of the shipping line, said: "What we want to do is run a stear ship line, and you can only do that with ships.

"We are convinced that there is n big future in the round-the- world service. Ours has NOW been in existence for 25 years and ours is the only line with a can- timious world-girdling, service ou a regular bazis,"
