| Little Chinese kids are so cute and roly-poly that you'd like to adopt every one of them. I visit- od the Quonset hut library of Madame Sun Yat-sen's Child Welfare Centre, and the tots looked rather amazed when I arrived holding a handful of inflated balloons.
A balloon, a piece of candy, or a colourful hair ribbon gives as much pleasure to a Chinese child as a Christmas morning would for our American children back home.
I passed the balloons around to gay little boxes which no doubt, the wide-eyed tots whose cheeks; gave a lot of excitement und were rubbed with red rouge to pleasure in those who had planned; celebrate the Chinese New Year them. festivals which go on for about aj weck.
The kids, sitting on tiny ben- ches, held the balloons tightly with their grubby little hands, looked up and smiled,
