The Tea Interval
Biggest upset in lawn bowls circles on Saturday was the defeat of Kowloon Football Club at the hands of Club de Recreio in Second Division. Re- creio, incidentally, did Kowloon Tong a good turn, for the defeat of K.F.C. has enhanced their chances of championship honours in this division.

Footballers were playing on their successive away win. own ground, The overwhelming defeat of Younghusband by C. C. Pereira (33-11) was too big a defeat for the other two rinks to wipe off, even though Field did finish up on the right side of 25-18 against J. R. Soares. O. P. Remedios beat Tommy Fergusson 21-19 to complete Recreio's suc-
cess.
Younghusband was unlucky in that not only he, but also the other members of his rink, were off form against Pereira's four who, as it happened, were play- ing top-notch bowls.
Pereira bowled like a veteran and his front men were always there, doing exactly as they
were told.
Fighting Finish
W. V. Field's four somewhat made up for the failure of Younghusband and his men, but although they wol by 25-18 against J R Soures. the game was more interesting than the scores would indicate. Leading 11-4 at the 9th, Field allowed Soares to draw up to 19-18 at the 18th. but 4, I and I by Field in the last three ends spelt "Finis"

Gaddi was on and off but bowled well enough to beat his opposite number, T. Hunter, who appeared to be suffering from the effects of some tooth trouble and could not get going. Solina had on the whole a bad day and only sent down few good woods. He was handicapped by the heavy green which did not appear to suit his style of play. Leigh of K.C.C. more than held his own.
