SHA-YU-CHUNG OCCUPIED BY JAPANESE
Sha-yu-chung, Mirs Bay terminus of the Taipo-Sha- yu-chung Ferry Service, was occupied by the Japanese at 1 p.m. yesterday following landings east and north-east of the village port early in the morning.
The little Mirs Bay port, which, after the Japanese occupation of Can- ton, was the coastal communication point between the outside world and "free" Kwangtung, was set on fire by the invading forces.
JAPAN'S REQUEST TO BRITAIN
London, To-day. Japan's request to Britain to take effective measures to stop all supplies of war materjals to China through Burma and Hong Kong was received in London from Sir Robert Craigie, our Ambassador in Tokyo, on Tuesday, says Reu. ter's diplomatic correspondent.

Bias Bay Landings
The invaders came from Bias Bay, the main body being landed at Paikong in Dumbell Bay, north-east of Sha-yu- .chung, and the others at Au-tau.
Following a naval bombardment of Au-tau and Paikong early in the morning, the Japanese carried out their landings successfully. Both towns have been reduced to ruins.
