U-Boat Meets Swift Retribution In Atlantic.

LONDON, TO-DAY.

SWIFT RETRIBUTION FOLLOWED THE SINKING BY A NAZI SUBMARINE OF THE 12,000-TON STEAMER, SULTAN STAR, 250 MILES FROM THE IRISH COAST, YESTERDAY. Within half an hour, according to an official noti- fication by the Admiralty, the U-boat responsi- ble for the sinking, had been detected by British naval craft and destroyed.

This U-boat was the second to be the Gretafield, 10,000 tons, and Bri- destroyed in the day, according to the tish Triumph, 8,500 tons. Admiralty statement, which does not however disclose the circumstances.

As two U-boats were destroyed on February 9, the Royal Navy has claimed four in five days.

The Gretafeld was sunk off the north-east coast of Scotland, and 28 of her crew were rescued. Thirteen are missing.

She was a Danish ship of 5,000 tons, bound for Denmark from Morocco. She was stopped by a U-boat 80 miles from Norway on Tuesday morning.'
