HAVING JUST RETURNED from Rovaneimi, Finnish head- quarters, the BBC Observer in Finland yesterday broad- cast his impressions. One of the first things he did on his return to Helsinki after 3 weeks' absence was to buy the English newspapers.

He was interested to learn from one of them that their Stockholm correspondent had reported that Soviet 'planes had practically levelled · Rovaneimi to the ground and that it was uninhabitable.

"HOLLYWOOD" HOTEL The Journalists stayed in a Hollywood" hotel, built for tourists who in peace-time travel to Petsamo and stop off at Rovancimi for their first glimpse of the midnight sun. Half of the hotel is now a hospital.

During the past week, however, the journalists have'spent little time In the hotel. They go out on their skia in the early morning and return late In the afternoon, dropping in on a hut in the forest for coffee and sandwiches.

TRAMWAYS CLAIM

After the evidence of plaintiff com- pany had been taken Yuen Chuen-kee to-day admitted a claim of $75.45 for damages to a tramcar which was in- volved in a collision with a motor lorry on October 21.
