HITLER'S BOMBSHELL NOW BELIEVED TO HAVE MISFIRED: TALKS IN ROME

THE FRENCH AMBASSADOR in Rome saw the Ita- lian Foreign Minister, Count Ciano, yesterday, and is believed to have re-affirmed France's de- termination to stand by her obligations.
