Apropos of the contention that the shoes of Englishwomen are not always perfect it is interesting to note that women's feet, apparent- ly all over the world are said to be getting larger and their ankles thicker.

The reason, says the experienced speaker, is the use of high heeled shoes and the current addiction to athletics. Unfortunately women's hands and feet are supposed to, be small for beauty, and although this is not so much stressed on in theas days, it still holds good.
