In the course ci an, interesting and instructive lecture on "Modern Methods of Measurement" given before the Institution of Engineers and Shipbuilders, last night, Professor C. A. Middleton Smith, M.Sc., M.L.Mech.E., traced the scientific development of pre- sent-day measuring instruments. He also dealt in an illuminating manner with the value of the human factor in production, and con- cluded with some interesting speculations as to future developments.
