"Like The Armistice"
Toulouse, Yesterday,
A comparison of south-west France: to-day with the devastated regions in war time was made by M. Tardieu in an interview following his tour of the flood srca. He sald that the technical problems must be approached exactly as after the armistice, and peasants must be housed in hotments pending the re-building of their cottages, after which the vine industry must be restored and re-nfforestation carried out in order to minimise the possibility of a recurrence of the catastrophe.--Reuter

Peshawar, Yesterday. Sardar Aminjhan and Abdul Hakin Khan have been deported to Burma. Reuter.
[The Government of the North West Frontier Province issued # communique stating that Sardar Andinjan, half brother of ex-King Amanullah, and Abdul Hakim Khan, Amanullah's trade agent at Pusha. war, had been arrested owing to the discovery of a conspiracy to disturb the peace of Afghanistan by bring Ing about a fresh rising of the Shin- wari tribe. There was reason to be Heve that the plot was assisted by intrigues emanating from the trade agency at Pashawar, which Abdul Hakim Khan refused to hand over to his successor, appointed to represent the Government of Afghanistan. Amiajan has been living with Abdul Hakim since October. It appears that the former intended secretly to re-enter Afghanistan and make his headquarters in Shinwari territory.)
