A Fine Play
It was a rattling good display of football. The English team was
glorious shot from Chen, and the English defence had been fully ex- tended, Goldman got away. Dash- ing between the backs he sent led by Goldman in splendid style, grand low shot to Pau who could and Barkham and Stock were the better wing. The halves played very strongly and Wynne and Baker gave a very sound display. Mott, except for one mistake, kept China made a great fight very safe goal. and the cheering was continuous 18 Suen and Pau Ka-chuen and Fung all came near with good at tempts. eventually Ip Pak-wa scored China's second goal with a dashing effort,
match.
The football at this stage was most exciting, Mott saved at full length, and a great drive by Fung was cleared by Baker in China's determined effort.. The defence was a trifle lucky and held.
The reshuffled China team gave a bright display, the play of the forward line being brilliant, and the passing of the insides being of
high order at times. Wong Shui wei and Pang were the better of the halves, and the backs and Pau were good.
