The last Interport trial game, of the season was played at the Hong Kong Football ground on Saturday against a

good side representing the Navy. Contrary to the expec- tations of the general sporting public, who expected the Selected Side to win by a margin of 2 or 3 goals, the Navy played them to a draw in a very good and hard fought game.

The Game.

The Navy kicked off, and Northey with a good pass set Knight going, but Lai Yuk-tak tackled him, and gaining possession, cleared well, The Navy got going again and Evane had hard luck with a shot

Excitement was now at a high pitch, with both teams striving to gain the lead, and some thrilling tusales in front of goal resulted.

Gosano went very near with nice header which hit the top of the upright and rebounded into play. The Navy now had most of the play, as they took the ball down the field time and again. Northey had hard luck with a shot which the gonile saved at the expense of

a corner.

The Better Team.

The Navy should have register ed a third goal when Jones put in a well placed centre which Evana just headed over. They wara now

SUGGESTIONS FOR SOLVING CROSS-WORD PUZZLESK

Start out by filling in the words of which you feel reasonably sure. There will give you a clue to other words crossing them, and they in turn to kill others. A letter belongs in each white space, words starting at the numbered squares and running either horizontally or vertically or both.
