The opening of the second half was sensational and Portugal came away very strongly, and awarded a penalty which Rodgers saved in great style from Gosano.

The game was not brilliant, but very atrenuous and exciting, and in some very heavy work. Gonone was injured and retired to the touch line but resumed.

Portugal were now playing up very strongly and after Rodgers had affected a brilliant clearance from Gosuno and again from Silva, Carvalho fastened on the ball and the scores were one all.

Portugal now went all out and appeared to be setting the pace, but Brown could not get going on the right, where McBride was playing a great game, and Scotland broke nway, McGlinchey bursting through and crossing to Campbell, the wing- er scored a nice goal well out of the reach of Silva.

Portugal tried hard and a beau. tiful shot by Ward was skilfully held by Rodger and Scotland again took up the attack, a fine shot by McBride just clearing the upright. Silva did well to clear his lines in the last stages when Scotland put on some heavy pressure.

Lusitano scored nine wins, the Athletic three. -

The highest break was made by Mr. A. J. Osmund-71 points.

The game was a very hard one but not a good exhibition by any means, and towards the end the players were not too gentle on either side, there being one or two rather bad passages.

The Scottish team deserved their win and Rodger, McBride, Stewart and Martin in the defence were very good, whilst McGlinchey and Mc- Niven were easily the pick of the forwards. The Rev. Alexander had an off day and Campbell and Hum- phreys did not play up to their Club form.
