The Correspondents' column also affords farther and greater facilities for the inter- change of views and discussion of various topics.
Original contributions in Chinese, Latin, or any of the Modern Languages are re- ceived. The papers are contributed by the members of the various Consular, the In- perial Chistops, and Hongkong Services, And also by the Missionary bodios amongat rhon a high degree of Chinese scholarship is assiduously cultivated. Amongst the regular contributors are Dis. Clunera, Eitel, Bretschneider, and Hirth, Professor Lege, and Musers Balfour, Watters, Stent, Phillips, MacIntyre, Groot, Jantieson, Faber, Kopsch, Parker, Playfair, Giles, Piton, and Taylor, well-known names, indicative of sound scholarship and thorough mastery of their subject.
