91. Maintenance of Sewers, Nullahs, etc:-Sewers, storm water drains, and trained nullahs were cleansed, repaired, and maintained in good condition. Open channels and nullahs were cleansed by the Sanitary Department. Sand deposits, as they accumulated were removed.

93. Typhoon and Rainstorm Damages:-Repairs were carried out to the following buildings:-Kowloon City Police Station, Lai Chi Kok Prison, Shamshuipo Police Station and Cheung Chau Wan Market. Damages to various roads, surfacing and embankments were made good. Telephone poles and lines were also repaired.
Sand and silt were removed from, and repairs carried out to nullahs, culverts and channels at Grampian Road, Kai Tak Airport, Lai Chi Kok, Tonkin Street, Nanchang Street and Upper Taipo Road and at various catchpits. Repairs were also carried out at the Waterboat Dock at Lai Chi Kok and at Shamshuipo Ferry Pier.

Maintenance of Water works, Lai Chi Kok:-The total quantity of water supplied during the year was 96.33 million gallons an increase of 3.90 million gallons on 1936 and an average consumption of 264,000 gallons per day. In the portions of Camp and Pratas Streets to the south-west of Castle Peak Road 280 and 200 feet of 6" spun iron main were laid.
