167. Kowloon Tsai Development:-This work was referred to in paragraph 178 of last year's Report. The contractor continued levelling of the site by 3-C.Y. waggons and decauville trucks. By the end of the year, approximately 1,380,000 cubic yards of spoil had been excavated above formation level and deposited over the low-lying ground to bring it up to formation level. A 54" diameter storm water drain was constructed from the nullah in Waterloo Road eastward for a length of 620 feet.

172. Back Lane Service Pipes:-Four new back lane services and ten extensions were installed, while ten services were enlarged. This involved the laying of 800 feet of 3″ and 3,283 feet of 2″ wrought iron piping. One hundred and twenty new services, and twenty-six existing services were connected to these and existing subsidiary mains.
