The following foodstuffs were voluntarily surrendered and destroyed:-
Fish 301 lbs., Vegetables 106 lbs., Meat 43 lbs., Preserves and Condiments 95 lbs., Eggs 3 lbs., Fruit 136 lbs., Dairy Products 6 lbs., Cereals 40 lbs., Biscuits 12 lbs., Flour 21 lbs., Tinned Milk 17 lbs. and Wheat 4,420 lbs.

Legislation.
(ii) The following by-laws were made by the Board.
The Offensive trade by-laws were amended with the object of including the trades of storing, dressing and preparing of sharks' fins within the offensive trades. The amendment was made by the Board on 12th February and approved by the Legislative Council on 14th March.
The Scavenging and Conservancy by-laws were amended by the addition of paragraph (4) to by-law No. 1 with the object of enabling the Board to fix from time to time the fee for the removal of night-soil and other excretal refuse for the householders. The amendment was made by the Board on 26th February and approved by the Legislative Council on 21st March.
The Scavenging and Conservancy by-laws were further amended with the object of:-
(a) requiring the occupier or principal tenant of any domestic building, or any part thereof and the occupier of any other premises situated within any of the districts specified in by-law No. 1 (1) (a) (c) (d) to provide a sufficient number of proper dust-bins or dust-cans, and to deposit all refuse therein,
