9. Grants on short leases.-An area of 37,050 square feet, was granted as a New Kowloon Dairy Farm Lot for a term of ten years.
10. Extensions of short leases.-New Kowloon Dairy Farm Lots Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7 were extended for a further period of ten years from 10th July, 1934.
11. Piers :-(a) Permanent.-In Hong Kong, an extension of 5,000 square feet to Permanent Pier No. 12 which realized $16,500.00 in premium, was granted to the Osaka Shosen Kaisha. In Kowloon permission was granted to the Hong Kong and China Gas Company, Ltd., for the erection of a new pier, No. 70 on payment of $170.00 premium and $36.50 premium was charged for an excess area of 73 square feet found on preparation of lease plans for Pier No. 52.
(b) Temporary.-Licenses to erect one pier in Hong Kong and one pier in the New Territories were issued during the year with fees amounting to $72.66.
12. Re-entries.-Forty-two lots in Hong Kong (three of which were cancelled), fourteen lots in Kowloon (six of which were cancelled), ten lots in New Kowloon (five of which were cancelled), twenty-four lots in Southern District (New Territories) and one hundred and twenty-one lots in the Northern District (New Territories) were re-entered during the year.
13. Permits to occupy land for short periods. These were of a very miscellaneous character and too numerous to admit of individual mention. (a) The total amount of fees collected during the year was $271,296.23 being $98,915.23 for Hong Kong, $111,117.11 for Kowloon and $61,263.89 for New Kowloon. New permits issued during the year totalled 540 and 483 were cancelled for various reasons; the total number of permits in force being 4,687. (b) The total amount of fees collected during the year in the New Territories was $2,595.57, being $383.30 for permits in the Southern District and $1,176.74 for yearly, $911.63 for five yearly, $61.90 for ten yearly and $62.00 for twenty-one yearly permits in the Northern District.
14. Prospecting and Mining Licences.-Three new mining and two new prospecting licences were issued while one mining and one prospecting licence were renewed during the year.
15. Naval and Military Lands.-Memorandum of Transfer and Release of rights in five portions of King's Park and Memorandum of Agreement relating to King's Park were completed on 2nd June, 1934, and the sum of $33,532.50 entered in Government's record as a credit to the War Department in the Colonial Military Lands account in respect of the former.
