154. Roads:
Roads:-Work completed under this head included kerbing and channelling and paving in granolithic or slabs of footpaths where this was required either by reason of building development or replacement.

155. Drainage:-(a) Training Nullahs. Parapet walling was constructed at Waterloo Road nullah between Kowloon-Canton Railway bridge and Dundas Street for a length of 232 feet.

(b) Miscellaneous Drainage Works.-New sewers and storm water drains were constructed to a length of 7,503 feet, varying in diameter from 42" to 6". The south-west wall of Sung Wong Toi nullah was extended seawards and half nullah invert laid for a length of 590 feet. The number of drain connections made was 136. Many new gullies with flat gully gratings were constructed and connected to the storm water drainage system. A scheme was carried out to deal with storm water at the south-east end of Kowloon Hospital site.

156. Miscellaneous :-The following works were carried out under this head:-Yaumati Carnber-new storage racks, Blackhead Point Signal Station-renew typhoon symbols, Kowloon Godowns-renew typhoon symbols, Kowloon Hospital-concrete covers to surface channels and Mong Kok Fire Station-installation of a geyser. Improvements and additions to electrical installations were carried out in five buildings. Thirty-six radiators, nine fans and seven telephones were installed in twelve buildings.

Water Works: (a) Miscellaneous.-The following works were carried out under this head:-365 feet of 6" cast iron pipe were laid in Nelson Street from Shanghai Street to Canton Road, 220 feet of 6" cast iron pipe were laid in Lime Street at Fook Tsun Street, 145 feet of 4" cast iron pipe were laid in Soy Street between Nathan Road and Portland Street, 145 feet of 4" cast iron pipe were laid in Winslow Street between Chatham Road and Ferry Pier, and 120 feet of 4" cast iron pipe were laid in Shum Chun Street.
