43. The expenditure on Public Works has grown very considerably during the last three decades. The average annual expenditure during the years 1905 to 1914 was $2,030,530, from 1915 to 1924 it was $4,591,130, whilst from 1925 to 1934 the average annual expenditure has been $8,477,220.

Tables I, II and III at the end of this Report give various comparative statements of expenditure.
