131. Victoria Hospital: Hot Water System to Maternity Block. It was proposed to install a coal burning domestic hot water apparatus to supply all existing basins, sinks, and baths in the Maternity Block and Sisters' Quarters and to provide lavatory basins in all wards in the Maternity Block, but the work was held in abeyance during the year pending the result of further modification to the existing gas burning installation with a view to more economical working.

Upper Peak Tram Station Parking Ground.-A contract for the construction of a toe-wall and the filling in of an area at Victoria Gap, The Peak, to form a Car Park, together with the widening of a short length of Harlech Road, was let to Messrs. Blackmore & Blackburn on 8.2.33 for a sum of $7,311.00. This work was nearing completion at the end of the year.

Chai Wan Cemetery, Sexton's Quarters.-This work consisted of the erection of a one storey building in brick, with flat concrete roof, containing two living rooms, office, store, kitchen, bath and latrine. A contract was let to Messrs. Hewart Shing Yick & Co. on 27th September but progress was very slow and the foundations and concrete for the ground floor had only been completed by the end of the year.

136. Government Pavilions : Gardeners' Quarters.-This work consisted of the erection of a one storey building in brick, with flat concrete roof and containing one room for two men with kitchen. The work, which was carried out by Messrs. Hop Cheong & Co., was commenced in October and completed in November.
