63. A development plan was prepared for the Cracker Factory reservation at Ngau Shi Wan.
64. The junction of Lai Chi Kok and Nathan Roads was re-planned giving a larger reservation for the future Post Office and Fire Station and improving traffic conditions.
65. A plan showing the general lines of a development of the area north of Kowloon Tong was prepared with the object of developing the land immediately adjoining the north side of Cornwall Road.
66. During the year sketch plans were prepared for a new Government House on the site of the old Military Sanatorium near Magazine Gap; quarantine station and Infectious Diseases Hospital, Green Island; new Government Civil Hospital; new Magistracy, Kowloon; Venereal Disease Clinic, Kowloon; Crematorium, Hong Kong. Sketch plans were also prepared for a number of minor works.

67. A summary of the works carried out during the year under this vote is given below:-
HONG KONG.
68. Maintenance of Buildings. Government Buildings were kept in a good state of repair. Painting, colourwashing and repairs in accordance with the recurring programme carried out to hospitals, markets, and latrines, to a total of fifty-one buildings. A considerable amount of white ant damage was repaired, the principal buildings affected being:-
Central Police Station, Government Civil Hospital, Queen's College, Victoria Gaol, Belilios School, Ellis Kadoorie School, Kennedy Town Cattle Depots, Kennedy Town Hospital, Shek Tong Tsui Market, Upper Levels Police Station, Mountain Lodge, Queen's Gardens, Shaukiwan Police Station, Botanical and Forestry Department Offices, and Aberdeen Police Station.
69. Major repairs included the following:
Warders Quarters Arbuthnot Road-reconstruction of all verandahs; Government House-reconstruction of South and West verandahs and strengthening North verandahs; Lysholt-Extensive repairs, alterations and general renovation; Superintendent's Quarters G. C. H. -Complete renewal of roof and general renovation: Kennedy Town Crematorium-Extensive repairs and renewals: Central Market-Renewing roofing to South Dome; Government Laundries Extensive repairs to roofs and windows: Victoria Gaol-Renewing floors in
