126. Water Supply to Deep Water Bay. This work, referred to in paragraph 191 of last year's Report, provides an unfiltered water supply to Deep Water Bay. In this connection

(a) a W.I. Supply Pipe, 2 inch in diameter, conveying water from the leakage of Wong Nei Chong Reservoir and delivering it into a Service Reservoir was laid: it has a length of 5,946 feet.

(b) A Service Reservoir 24 feet by 11 feet and 10 feet deep of a capacity of 15,000 gallons constructed of cement concrete 1:2:4 with a reinforced roof was built. It has a 3 inch inlet, a 6 inch draw-off and a 4 inch washout. An overflow is also provided. Its top water level is at 409.00 A.O.D., invert level at 400.00 A.O.D., and draw-off level at 400.75 A.O.D.

The distribution is effected by 3, 2, and 1 inch W.I. mains which are laid in the roadway, where possible, their lengths being 2,000, 5,800, and 1,158 feet respectively.

Connections for house service have been made and will be utilized as required.

With the exception of 5,000 lineal feet of the 2-inch supply pipe laid in 1926, the rest of the work as detailed above was executed during the year.

127. Water Supply to Ap Lei Chau.-A survey of the channel between Aberdeen and Ap Lei Chau Island was made and a line for the 2" Supply Pipe decided upon. The W.I. Pipes and Special Joints were ordered from England, but their arrival at the end of the year precluded a commencement being made with the work.
