75. Mr. Robert Baker, M. Inst. C. E., Engineer of Way and Works, was granted 10 months' leave from 3rd April and during his absence Mr. E. S. Carter acted as Engineer of Way and Works.

76. Mr. J. Smith, Works Foreman, Locomotive Department, was absent on leave from 6th March until 9th December and during this period Mr. I. B. Trevor assisted the Chief Mechanical Engineer.
