(a) All necessary work inside and outside of the Pumping Station was completed in April. Work outside included concrete surfacing of all paths, and floors of coal dumps, approach steps to quarters and improved lighting in and around station.
(b) The erection of the new engine was completed in March, but as pumping was going on the economizer could not be altered nor the connection in the suction main made.
Alterations to the economizer and suction main were started in April and completed in July.
The new air vessel base to replace the one damaged by the bursting of the 30" main in September 1925 was also installed in April.
The new engine was first run in August and the official tests were satisfactorily run in November. The engine was officially taken over by Government on the 23rd November and the six months period of maintenance started on that day.
