The analyses made by the Government Analyst and the results obtained by Bacteriological examinations were satisfactory.
The various buildings were kept in a good state of repair during the year.
There were 1,563 meters in use at the close of the year, an increase of 323 as compared with 1925.
House services were constructed, altered or repaired in 550 instances and 27 supplies were laid on for building purposes.
84. Water Account (Meters &c.).—The number of meters examined and repaired during the year was 398.

85. Maintenance of Buildings. With the exception of Shamshuipo Market the usual recurring programme for the upkeep of Government Buildings was deferred and only essential repairs etc. were carried out as they became necessary.
The expenditure amounted to $3,300.42.
86. Improvements to Buildings.—A few minor improvements were carried out under this heading.
The expenditure amounted to $520.35.
87. Maintenance of Roads and Bridges. Improvements to Roads and Bridges. Approximate mileage 75.—The roads generally were maintained in a satisfactory manner.
