A total sum of $15,861.04 was spent on asphaltic sand carpeting laid on cement concrete foundation on that portion of the carriageway where the widening has been completed.

Further widening was carried out and a toe-wall to support the road was constructed East of the Magazine.

(o.) Bonham Road, Improvements and Widenings.—This work was referred to in paragraph 124 (p) of last year's Report.
Owing to the necessary resumptions not being completed, it was impossible to proceed with this work during the year. There was consequently no expenditure under this heading.

A further length of 300 feet of paving setts was laid on a 6″ Portland cement concrete foundation in Connaught Road, Central, from Wing Lok Street westwards.
The following roads were strengthened to withstand the weight of increased vehicular traffic:-
(q.) Stubbs Road, surfacing for heavy traffic.-This work was referred to in paragraph 124 (t) of last year's Report.
