The areas required for the various street widening schemes in operation in Kowloon were obtained by grant- ing areas of Crown Land in exchange therefor, either at the rear of the properties or elsewhere in the vicinity. Such exchanges were arranged in all cases of rebuilding in streets affected by widening schemes: particulars of exchanges effected will be found on pages 14 to 21.
