Section II-West of Railway Embankment to Shanghai Street, Mongkoktsui. Fair progress was made with the cutting and filling, 10,000 cubic yards of material, chiefly rock, being removed and utilized for filling in to approved formation levels of the adjacent low-lying areas.
Extending Coronation Road Northwards through hill (formerly K.F.L. 11.) — This was referred to in paragraph 159 (e) of last year's Report.
The work was completed in November, and all liabilities had been discharged by the end of the year.

(b.) Improvements to existing main roads:

Diverting a portion of the existing roadway in the vicinity of the New Kowloon Hospital Site to the new alignment. This work was referred to in paragraph 159 (6) of last year's Report.
Good progress was made with the heavy cutting, a matter of 100,000 c. yards being removed and deposited for the necessary filling.
Certain other improvements were effected elsewhere, but most of the proposals were held over pending further consideration of the suggested Tramway Scheme.
