170. Open Market, Bowring Street.—Plans were prepared and a Contract signed for the work in August:
The structure will be of the usual open type with the necessary caretaker's quarters on the roof, and is designed to carry a second storey.
By the end of the year, the site had been brought to formation level and the foundations finished; the brick piers were well in hand.
Provision is made for thirty 10-ft. stalls together with a poultry killing compartment.

(b.) Pak Hoi Street—Trough Closet and bath-house over
16th October.
(c.) Ivy Street—Trough Closet—16th October.
All the above conveniences are of the latest improved type, (a) and (c) being designed to carry an additional storey.
(a) was approaching completion, and on (b) and (c) foundation work had been started at the end of the year.
