The Report was discussed by the Chamber's Shipping Sub-Committee at Meetings held during July and August, and at a General Meeting of the Chamber held on the 4th of September. As the Chamber wished to obtain the opinion of Mr. Duncan on certain questions which arose in discussion, more particularly the practicability of laying out new wharves in the form of wet dock in which large steamers could shelter during typhoon weather, it was decided to await his return from leave early in 1924.
The Consulting Engineers, having recommended the erection of two Self-recording Tide Gauges and that systematic surveys be made on certain portions of the Harbour, an indent was forwarded to the Crown Agents for the Tide Gauges and a teak motor launch 26 feet in length, fitted with a 6-9 H.P. Kelvin Silent Motor, was constructed by the Moonraker Slipway Co. at a cost of $3,000.00, which sum was defrayed from P.W.E. Hongkong, Item No. 12 "Miscellaneous Works".
The Expenditure incurred under this Vote during the year was in connection with Surveys.

Central Police Station.-Construction of a grilled store. Aberdeen Police Station.-Construction of Arms grille. Isut Te Mui Police Station.-Partitions to provide accommodation for married Indian Sergeants. Erection of Poultry Market at Monmouth Path. Supplying Pillar and Wall boxes for G.P.O.
Construction of Matshed Market Wongneichong Village.
