and Tom Brown's School Days' Reading :-"Esmond" and will be read in Class. During the Session students will be required to read the following books privately :-"Ivanhoe", "Hereward the Wake", "The Talisman" and "David Copperfield", all with notes. Students will be expected to show a general knowledge only of these books. They must be able to give evidence to the Examiners of having read and generally understood them.
Recitation and Paraphrase:-Extracts from "Lay of the Last Minstrel". Special attention will be paid to enunciation and pronunciation.
II. PEDAGOGY.
The Subjects set for the First and Second Years' Courses will be further treated, and special attention paid to the control of:
• *(a) Schools, or Groups of Classes; (b) Junior Teachers.
Practical Teaching :-The student will be required to give a lesson to a Class in the presence of the Examiners. For this purpose he will prepare full Notes for four Lessons, one of which will be selected by the Examiners. The student will be expected to produce a satisfactory report as to his skill and diligence as a Teacher from the Headmaster of the School at which he is engaged.
