Improvement of Veterinary Matters. Reports that Ministers agree to the proposals in No. 93 on the under- standing that they shall have a right of selection from amongst approved candidates.

Diseases of Cattle in the Gambia. Requests to be furnished with an annual report on the results of the preventive measures recommended by Captain Todd, and with statistics of mortality from disease especially as regards anthrax.

Veterinary Officer for the Gold Coast. Approves the appointment of a special veterinary officer to undertake the investigations desired at a salary not exceeding £500 a year; considera that the veterinary officer should be independent of the medical depart- ment, and states that steps are being taken to select a suitable candidate.

Veterinary Research. Points out objections to proposed estab- lishment of an Institute of Research at Lagos, but observes that the matter is still under consideration, and trusts that a definite decision may be arrived at when Mr. Garden has furnished his report.
