General

The Police were not involved in ful! but sufficient took part in the Exercise to give the Army the backgrousi for what was primarily an Army Exercise. The knowledge of duties,

1. the co-ordination and co-operation between the Police and Military was good, but co-operation in the field was not so good and leaves a great deal to be desired.

There is nothing to prevent Brigade Hedquarters putting up a suggested basis for successful co-operation in the NE TERSITORIES. It is primarily the problem of the Com ander in the field.

IS Duties:

This part of the Exercise was well carried out. The troops knew the drill, co-operation between the Police and Army worked well. The only means of maintaining this standard is by frequent practises.

Concentration of Families:

(a) Not really tied up.

Headquarters KC LCCN Infantry Bripade will, in consultation with the CC 25 Field Regiment, and OC 983 Coy RASC, check the arrangements for 70 ICCN and revise these where necessary. "Q" Branch HOL will take similar action with parent units for those families living on the Island.

(b) It is not satisfactory that the Military Forces should have a cut and dried Scheme unless that roluced by the Civil authorities is also published. If real trouble occurs, it will be quite impossible for either the rolice or Military to provide protection for scattered European communities. Information:
