his nuisance journal, that it is complied with.

It may be that a District Inspector seryes a notice, and

if the owner acts upon it without demur, he spends a

large sum of money, and this is done merely on the

authority of the District Inspeator ↑

moment that it is something which, if the man had

thought, he would not be bound to carry out. But the

Inspector bluffs that man, and the man does it. Is

there any record of these notices kept by you, and is

it brought to your notice when a person has abatɛd a

nuisance on a small pencil notice. Does it necessarily

dome before you at all, that be has ever been called

upon to abate a nuisance ?
