In Chatham and

Yen, that is so. But you ask if any house of 079) 5J

feet in depth must be provided with a greater space thas

50 square feet. This deals with buildings having two

main frontages in differant streats. I can se that it

is this one in Wing Lok Street, which ran through from

one straat to the other.

I will give you a case in point. The piece of land 19086

belonging to the P and 0 Company, next to the Post

Offics, is 49 feet wide, and that will face on two main

thoroughfares. No you mean to say, if it was two feet

wider, that I would have to provine double the area

when I come to build offices there, as I shall have to

do shortly *

A.

This refers to the depth. ·

I will take it another way. The property is over 150

fect decy.

A.

160 feet deep.

19008

Do you mean to say, for the sake of argument it is 160

feet, that is to say it is the depth of three hou@6,

and for that extra 10 feet I will have to make it the

area of four houses ?

A.

Your being on the Prays Reclamation, you are under a

separate Ordinance.

Mr Humphreya:-

A.

I am supposing a similar piece of property, in an area

covered by this Ordinance.

It is quite possible that such a property mista. You

must provide an open spape equal to one fourth of the

whole area.

That is in the case of new buildings ?

190 10

I am supposing we have got a building on that property,

and nupone it comes under that. Then if it was built

over, you would have houses fronting Des Voeux Road and

Connaught Road, and each one must be provided with 50

square feet ?
