It is possible, but not likely, that an enemy's cruizer may visit this port, and requisi-
tion for money or supplies under threats of bombardment.
In such a case bombardment will be accepted.

All necessary arrangements for hospitals and ambulances have been made in anticipa
tion of the Proclamation of War.
A look-out will be kept in the offing by night as well as by day, and the appearance of
any suspicious cruizer will be made known by signal.
The arrival of a hostile cruizer will be notified by the Union Jack hoisted from the
clook-tower, hereafter called the "Alarm."
The "Alarm" will be cancelled by the colonial flag hoisted under the Union Jack. The "Alarm" will be the signal for every person to take his or her arranged station. Civilians appointed to any duty will be distinguished by a badge on the left arm.
Hospital and Ambulance: Red cross.
Sanitary: Yellow cross.
Commissariat: Blue cross
Message Boys: Green cross.
The Mayor's station is the Town Hall Entrance in West Street: exit by the Market
House door.

BURGESSES of Durban may at once enrol themselves as members of any of the local corps, subject to ballot, by taking the Oath of Allegiance and submitting to the Rules of the Volunteers for the Commissariat, Hospital and Ambulance, and for Sanitary services will apply to the Mayor.
