WAR has been declared between England and

It is possible, but not likely, that an enemy's cruizer may visit this port, and requisi-
tion for money or supplies under threats of bombardment.
In such a case bombardment will be accepted.
Early help may be expected from the Admiral
All necessary arrangements for hospitals and ambulances have been made in anticipa
tion of the Proclamation of War.
A look-out will be kept in the offing by night as well as by day, and the appearance of
any suspicious cruizer will be made known by signal
The arrival of a hostile cruizer will be notified by the Union Jack hoisted from the clock-tower, hereafter called the "Alarm."
The "Alarm" will be cancelled by the colonial flag hoisted under the Union Jack. The "Alarm" will be the signal for every person to take his or her arranged station. Civilians appointed to any duty will be distinguished by a badge on the left arm.
Hospital and Ambulance: Red cross.
Sanitary: Yellow cross.
Commissariat: Blue cross.
Message Boys: Green cross.
The Mayor's station is the Town Hall.

All written communications to the Mayor will be at once answered.
Railway accommodation is arranged for to meet the case of families wishing to leave
Applicants for such railway accommodation must address the Mayor, with particulars
of number of passengers and weight and description of baggage and packages.
The Mayor will answer each application, giving the number of carriage, name of station, and hour of dispatch.
Further Proclamations will be issued from time to time, with all information that concerns the public.
