Explanatory Note.

(This Note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general purport).

These regulations amend the principal regulations by including therein provisions relating to "light buses". The expressions “light bus". "private light bus" and "public light bus" were defined in the Road Traffic (Amendment) Ordinance 1969. The light bus is subdivided into two classes, namely, the private light bus and the public light bus. The latter vehicle (which has been commonly known as the minibus) will be licensed to carry passengers for hire or reward.

2 Other amendments to the principal regulations made by these regulations are intended to improve the drafting form and to bring them into line with present day requirements.
