Regulation 4 amends Parts 1 and II of the Second Schedule to the principal regulations. Items 1 and 2 of Part I are deleted and replaced with an additional column in the rent charges. The additional sum specified therein is payable by tenants of rooms in the Mack I and Mark 11 Blocks to which an electricity supply has been connected. Its purposes is to recover from such tenants the cost of rewiring those blocks,

Regulation 4 also inserts the rent charges payable in respect of special flats and specified shop premises in Mark V Blocks.

Regulation 5 amends the Third Schedule to das principal regulations to provide that the prescribed permit fees may be charged for occupation of the Cottage Resettlement Area at Fo Tan.

Regulation & ammends be Fifth Schedule to the principal regulations to provide for a reduced, nominal licence fee payable under section 30C of the Ordinance by a welfare or other non-profit-making charitable organization.

Regulation ? adds the Sixth Schedule to the principal regulations. This Schedule prescribes the fees for the occupation of land in resettlement estates, resettlement factory areas and collage resettlement areas where such occupation is authorized by permit under section $2A of the Ordin- ance for use for outside seating areas for restaurants.

SLAUGHTER-HOUSES (NEW TERRITORIES)

(AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 1968.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 77 of the Public Health and Urban Services Ordinance, the Governor in Council has made the following regulations-

commencement.

1. These regulations may be cited as the Slaughter-houses Citation and (New Territories) (Amendment) Regulations 1968 and shall come into operation on the day appointed for the commencement of the Abattoirs By-laws 1968.

2. Regulation 47 of the principal regulations is amended by inserting, after paragraph (2), the following-

(3) This regulation shall not apply to any delivery of a carcass made under by-law 31 or 32-ot The Abattoirs By-laws 1968.".

Explanatory Note.

(This Note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general purport).

Regulation 47 of the principal regulations prescribes the fees for the transport of carcasses to the New Territories by Government vehicles from Government Slaughter-houses, whether or not in the New Territories. In the Abattoirs By-laws 1968, express provisions is made for deliveries of carcasses by Government transport to the New Territories. The purpose of these regulations is to provide that regulation 47 shall not apply to carcasses delivered under the Abattoirs By-laws 1969.
